Currently I interviewed a fellow curly on her journey to natural hair, this is what she had to say:
Why did you go natural?
I went natural because even though my relaxed hair was long, it was very damaged. I got sick of all the shedding, split ends and heat damage.
When did you decide to transition?
Summer after 10th grade i decided to transition, so after wearing micros for two and a half i started my natural journey.
How long did you transition before cutting off the relaxed ends?
It took me about a year or so to finish cutting off my relaxed ends
What styles did you use during transitioning?
While i transitioned i wore braids with synthetic hair and after a good amount was cut off i started wearing braid outs
How long are you willing to transition before you take the next step?
